This bird is looking down its nose at me, but somehow I'm not offended. In fact I'm overcome with awe and amazement!
A pelican by the name of "Bigbird" who was abandoned by his/her flock during a powerful storm in the African nation of Tanzania can be seen here, up close, learning to fly, with the help of some human handlers - and a very durable high-tech camera. The first person - nay, first pelican - POV makes for a rad journey across a lake near Tanzania's Mahale Mountains, complete with a sandy touchdown on the shoreline. See for yourself:
