Watch This Deaf Woman Hear For The First Time And Be Overwhelmed With Joy

A British woman deaf since birth has finally been given the gift of sound with the help of cochlear implants. 40-year-old Joanne Milne heard for the very first time at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, and the experience was, well, emotionally overwhelming:

The Daily Edge reports that a good friend of Milne's made her a mix tape of all the awesome music released during her lifetime that she can now enjoy. Some of Milne's soon-to-be-favorite tunes include:

  • Kate Bush - "Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)"
  • The Jam - "Town Called Malice"
  • Tracy Chapman - "Fast Car"
  • Nirvana - "All Apologies"
  • And perhaps most appropriately, Prince's "When Doves Cry."
