Don't let the kids see.

27 ridiculously inappropriate elf-on-the -shelf setups that must have been done by dad. In 2005, over ten years ago today, Carol Aebersold and her daughter Chanda Bell wrote a book called The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition. The book was illustrated by Coë Steinwart. The book explains how Santa keeps an eye on children during the holiday season: he sends out little elves to watch over the kids starting the day after Thanksgiving and lasting all the way until Christmas Eve night! The book includes a special doll that goes with it, and the idea is that the parents move the elf around the house during the season to remind their children to be good, because Santa is watching. The original creators are now millionaires, because it's been a huge hit all over the United States.

However, as it always happens, people start to get... creative. They move these elves around the house and put them in different places... and some parents have a dirtier sense of humor than others. That's where we got these hilariously NSFW photos of Elf on a Shelf. They're truly incredible. These elves are naughty, and quite hilarious. Do you do Elf on the Shelf for your kids? We do not necessarily recommend showing your kids any of THESE pictures or poses... Get Started
